I loved this game when I was a kid. So many hours of battles and just messing around. I know people figured out how to play online again, I found a clan that does it, but there′s no way to register to their site and ask them questions on their threads so I have no idea how they are doing it, or if they even still play. I′d love to play online again. It′s freeware now but I still have my discs and CD keys lol
If yous can find it, the Forgotten Hope mod for bf 1942 makes it so much better than its already amazing self. Its a realism mod, better physics, realistic armor penetration stats, way more vehicles, more weapons, just better all around. I still have the installs, saved from about 5 years ago. Cant wait to give it a try again
this game is so cool i missed while it was on orgin cause i got my account set up after it got off orgin BUT i have bf4 so thats cool. its nice that they have it on this website so more people can get it and play it and MAYBE they might let it on orgin again so thats cool. thank you so much for this game even though it has somewhat crappy graphics its still a really cool game
For anyone running windows 8-10 and has Avast anti-virus and VLC media player. Disable your antivirus when installing, also the .bin file will register as VLC, so change the default opening app for the .bin to notepad. DO NOT OPEN THE NEW NOTEPAD BIN FILE. Click the setup.exe file and itll use .bin automatically. Congrats you can play :)

Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII is the second of two expansions to the World War II first-person shooter computer game Battlefield 1942. It was released for Microsoft Windows on 4 September 2003 in North America and 5 September 2003 in Europe. It was also released for Mac OS X on 25 October 2004.
Secret Weapons of WWII brings many new features to the original game, such as new weapons, vehicles, battles, factions, and a new gameplay mode that focuses on fulfilling objectives more than destroying the enemy army. These new features help to bring variety to its predecessor's gameplay without overhauling the series. For example, while an Allied engineer may still maintain his original role as being able to repair vehicles, his long-ranged rifle has been replaced with a shotgun, which is effective at short distances.
Gameplay
As in Battlefield 1942, players play the role of a soldier in a two-sided battle and can choose which weapons and/or vehicles they want to use in accomplishing this task of victory on the battlefield. Usually, the team that works together more effectively wins by reducing the enemies tickets to zero in a classic 'Conquest' mode. (A team loses tickets when its members are killed, but also when the other team holds a majority of the capture points on a map.) Even more so than in Battlefield 1942, the weapons in Secret Weapons of WWII are designed to be used in unison with other weapons in order to compensate for weaknesses and maximize strengths.
A gameplay mode introduced in Secret Weapons of WWII is an objective-based mode in which players focus on accomplishing specific objectives in order to win the battle. For example, on Essen, the German forces must prevent Allied forces from destroying key portions of a weapons factory. If the Allied forces successfully fulfill these objectives, the German tickets are drastically reduced, usually winning the game for the Allies.
